We are asked often what our theme, inspirations and style of food are. For over ten years we have been championing some of the best and most authentic food and drink suppliers London has to offer. In over twenty years of doing this (including 10 years elsewhere before Pritchard & Ure ) the ethos, our own and that of like minded suppliers, has always been the driving force behind the menus. Whether for the expected staples such as coffee (Workshop), Tea (Postcard) or the, pardon the pun, bread and butter of our business, the daily and freshly prepared dishes that our chefs tirelessly put together, where and how we source, is paramount over any particular style of food. That said, it does not mean that we have no influence - a way to curb our enthusiasm for all cuisines and be able to focus our expertise. Our guiding light comes from slow food principles influenced by Greco Italian traditions and ancestry.

The reasons for this are, like our food, simple, yet deeply meaningful. Andrea, involved with Pritchard & Ure since its inception in 2015, is British born but from Southern Italian farming heritage, the bastion of the ironically now trendy cucina povera. For over twenty years Andrea has championed, often at his own considerable expense, the benefits to all of a society that supports ethical and artisanal growers, producers and farmers that care about their animals, land and wider environment. One of his favourite suppliers of almost fifteen years has been the extraordinary Marianna and her passion led business, Oliveology. Produce natural, fair and Greek are with Marianna. Needless to say one of a handful of first calls when tasked with the creation of the food and drinks offering at Camden Garden Centre was to Oliveology.

This, along with a happy coincidence of an Athenian native being one of his first team members, the backbone of the menu was formed. Albeit much changed from the early days, those influences remain. Marry Oliveology with Andrea, with his Southern Italian family upbringing and memories of many a summer spent in the fertile countryside of Campania, and the final piece of the jigsaw to our small stable of long held suppliers was the addition of Natoora - their tagline, “We Exist to Fix the Food System”, is alone explanation enough for this choice. More than that, the abundance of natural Italian and British growers forming the backbone of the Natoora farm-led suppliers business model give us not only our ethics first menu but the ability to source our style of food. Around the edges, but no less significant, we add Clarence Court Eggs, Shipton Mill Flour and a scattering here and there of others, which culminates in our Greek and Italian (Magna Grecia) inspired dishes, following ancient and slow food principles.
